BARRINGTON — This town saw its most expensive property transfers in months in December 2010, with the $2.3 million purchase of Lavins’ Marina and the sale of a Rumstick Road home for $2.65 million.

The Lavins’ Marina property, located in Bay Spring at the mouth of Bullocks Cove, included the waterfront boat slips and the large open parcel just north of Latham Park. Joseph Ruggiero purchased the property.

The home at 375 Rumstick Road was purchased on Dec. 29, 2010. The 5,314-square foot home sits upon a 1.5-acre parcel, has five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. Stephen and Sally Barlow sold the property to Barbara and John Patrick Shaughnessy.

The Lavins’ Marina property was assessed at $2.5 million in the 2008 townwide reval, while 375 Rumstick Road was assessed at $2.98 million.
